Once unknown to now the most common food item across India, almost, is DOSA. It takes less than a minute to prepare & is a great source of taste, apart from supplying much needed energy to the body.
No matter the type of dosa, it is always a good supplier of nutrients. They can be made healthier using ragi, oats or semolina flour in their preparation.
Ragi is a powerhouse of health, containing a lot of nutrients that help in reducing weight and also act as protector against multiple diseases like brittle bones, osteoporosis, anaemia and diabetes. It is also a natural relaxant which helps in relieving stress and anxiety.
Recipe - One can find ready-made dosa batter in any store. Else, you may grind rice and urad dal (black gram or black lentil) mixture at home and ferment it overnight. For a healthy alternative, add sprouted ragi flour, semolina, or diced vegetables.
Spread the batter on a pre-heated oiled pan. Flip once. The dosa is ready!
It is heated alongwith potatoes & added spices. Served all together.
